It's too early to say yet, but this may be most exciting game of E3. It also might be our first look at a next-gen title.
The Ubisoft press conference could be described as painful, but only if you were to be really polite about it. The hosts were dreadful and the segment on eSports was so poorly done that, as much as we love our eSports, we just didn't want to watch.
Just when it seemed like all we'd see was a bit of 'Assassin's Creed 3,' Ubisoft surprised us all. Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot came out to highlight a new IP – a brand new game without a 2 or a 3 behind it. The game is called 'Watch Dogs' and it may just be the game of the show.
It' s a bit hard to describe, but think GTA with futuristic hacking and incredible graphics. Check out the gameplay trailer to see it in action. Things start a little slow, but they build to a hectic and downright crazy climax. In the end, our hero hacks a traffic light to cause a car accident and then a gunfight ensues. It's pretty nuts.
One thing that has everyone scratching their heads is what system this game is coming out for. It looked too pretty for the 360 and PS3, and Ubisoft didn't specify what hardware it would be running on. We're guessing that this is the first game we've seen made for next-gen systems.
Unless Sony or Nintendo have something amazing up their sleeves, Ubisoft may be the ones dominating E3 talk this year.
