Ageless Grammy-winning tunesmith Tony Bennett is out to prove that high-def ain't just for the young ones, with the Blu-ray release of his TV concert special 'An American Classic' on December 12.
The ground-breaking television special (which airs tonight on NBC) documents the legendary entertainer's life by re-creating various venues he's played over his loing career, from the downtown club he was first discovered in to the "Rat Pack" Vegas years to his triumphant shows at Carnegie Hall. Under the director of 'Chicago' helmer Rob Marshall, a host of musical superstars join Bennett for one-of-a-kind duets, including Barbra Streisand, Elton John, k.d. Lang and Christina Aguilera.
Full technical specs are not yet in for the ten-song special, but expect a 1080p transfer and the same extras as the Sony Music standard-def DVD release.
Retail price will list for $29.98.
We've added a listing for 'An American Classic' to our comprehensive Blu-ray Release Schedule, and stay tuned for final details.
