A horror musical comedy and a fantasy thriller are both bound for Blu-ray later this year.
In an early announcement to retailers, Scorpion Releasing is preparing 'The Monster Club' for Blu-ray on September 24. 'Harlequin' is also scheduled to follow sometime in October.
'The Monster Club' - A writer of horror stories (John Carradine) is invited to a monster club by vampire Erasmus (Vincent Price). There the mysterious old gentleman spins three chilling tales of monsters ghouls and vampires. This most unique horror entertainment combines a star-studded cast with horror humor and music.
'Harlequin' - A modern-day politician is faced with an incomprehensible power in this startling, award-winning supernatural thriller. Senator Rast (David Hemmings) holds a powerful government position, but he's no match to the extraordinary power of the enigmatic stranger who mysteriously comes to visit him. Possessing uncanny magical prowess and psychic abilities, the seemingly benevolent visitor quickly gains hold of the Senator and his family. When the visitor becomes aware of Rast's loveless family life, he uses his powers to gain control over the Senator's wife and son. Will these dark forces be Rasts undoing, or will the diabolical drifter finally meet his match?
Specs and suggested list prices have not been detailed yet, but supplements for 'The Monster Club' will include: a 62-minute interview of Vincent Price conducted in 1987 by film historian David Del Valle; 40-minute audio interview between Del Valle and Price; On camera interview with David Del Valle; Original Trailer; and an Isolated ME track.
