Hinterland Studio staffed by AAA veterans.
Hinterland Studio has thirty days on Kickstarter to fund 'The Long Dark.' The game is being pitches as "first-person post-disaster survival simulation set in the Northern wilderness. " The game's tagline asks the question, "How far will you go to survive?"
Playing as William Mackenzie, the game starts as the player witnesses the effects of an electromagnetic pulse, which down the player's bush plane in a dense mountain forest in the Northern wilderness. Amid the game's open world design, which channels the freedom of 'Red Dead Redemption' and 'Fallout 3,' the player must learn to survive in an unforgiving place. The player can expect to encounter other, potential dangerous survivors, frozen structures and wolves.
While Hinterland is populated from veteran developers BioWare, Relic and Volition, it's clear that the game is going for a desperate, solitary kind of tension.
