Disney celebrates the 30th Anniversary of the 1981 animated classic with a double feature Blu-ray this August!
In an early announcement to retailers, Disney/Buena Vista has planned to release 'The Fox and the Hound / The Fox and the Hound II: 30th Anniversary Edition' on Blu-ray on August 9.
The 24th film in the Walt Disney Animated Classics series is loosely based on the 1967 novel by Daniel P. Mannix and marks the turning point where animator Don Bluth left Disney to form his own production studio. The direct-to-video sequel released in 2006 is also included in this set.
The release will be available as a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack (as well as a DVD/Blu-ray combo pack w/DVD packaging) in 1080p video, a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack, and supplements include three featurettes (Unlikely Friends, Passing the Baton: The Making of The Fox and the Hound, and The Making of the Music), The Best of Friends Sing-Along Song, and a music video "You Know I Will" - Lucas Grabeel.
Suggested list price for each combo pack is $39.99, but Amazon is also currently offering a $5 instant coupon with pre-orders on top of their regular discount, making it only $22.99.
