That’s less than the 3DS proper, but considering it’s essentially the same system, those are strong numbers indeed.
Two big Nintendo releases happened a few days ago. The first is ‘New Super Mario Bros. 2,’ which sold 430,000 copies in its first two days on the market. The second is the 3DS XL, which moved 193,000 units.
While that 200k is only around half of what the 3DS sold at launch, it’s important to remember that this system is just an iteration of the 3DS – it offers a bigger screen and not too terribly much else. By comparison, the Vita sold 210,000 at launch.
