The hybrid tablet/desktop offers impressive size and portability.
Acer has announced its latest product, the Aspire Z3-600 portable all-in-one computer. The tabletop PC features a 21.5-inch 1080p touch screen that has a flexible hinge allowing the device to stand up to 90 degrees or lay flat, and coupled with its built-in battery, the Z3-600 combines many of the benefits of a tablet and a traditional desktop computer.
"Our newest all-in-one series is our most flexible and dynamic one yet," said Frank Chang, director of desktop product management for Acer America. "Outfitted with a Full HD display and premium Harman Kardon speakers, it provides superb audio and visuals for movies, games and music. It's also ergonomic. The flexible hinge allows it to be used in several positions from upright to tilted back or flat on a desk or lap, while gesture control enables commonly used OS functions to be controlled with hand gestures from several feet away."
The Aspire Z3-600 runs Windows 8 and is powered by an Intel Pentium J2580 quad core processor, Intel HD Graphics, and 4GB of DDR3 RAM. An HDMI port, one USB 3.0 port, two USB 2.0 ports and a 750GB hard drive are included as well, and the integrated battery is rated for 2.5 hours of use. In addition, the tabletop PC also features two 2.5W front-facing Harman Kardon speakers and an HD webcam.
Acer is expected to launch the device at major retailers later this month at a suggested retail price starting out at $779.
