The acclaimed grindhouse-style thriller is planned for Blu-ray in September.
In an early announcement to retailers, Starz/Anchor Bay is working on 'The Victim' for Blu-ray on September 18.
Making his directorial debut to rave reviews and critical acclaim on the film festival circuit, 80’s horror/sci-fi icon and fan favorite Michael Biehn ('The Terminator,' 'Aliens,' 'Tombstone') unleashes the provocative and gritty grindhouse thriller 'The Victim' -- which he also stars in and wrote.
Good time girls Annie (Jennifer Blanc) and Mary (Danielle Harris) find themselves in a life and death situation. Annie’s life is put in jeopardy when she is witness to a violent act at the hands of two Sheriff’s Deputies (Ryan Honey, Denny Kirkwood). With her pursuers closing in, she stumbles across Kyle (Biehn), a recluse living in the middle of the woods. A rugged loner, Kyle finds the stillness of the woods comforting. He keeps civilization at arm’s length; that is - until a single knock on his door throws his solitary life into chaos. Two worlds collide in this nerve-fraying thriller that will keep audiences guessing until the very last frame.
There is no shortage of praise for 'The Victim' with Jake Dee of Arrowinthehead.com declaring “It's a lean, brusque, focused thriller with good performances by all involved” and Ain’t It Cool News’ Nordling describes it as a “A sexy, fun little grindhouse film, true to the genre.”
The Blu-ray will feature 1080p video, a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack, and supplements include a feature-length audio commentary by writer/director Biehn and co-star/co-producer Jennifer Blanc, a making-of featurette, and the theatrical trailer.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $24.99.
