"We are extremely grateful for the passion of PlayStation fans and thank them for their continued support."
The PS4 has launched, and predictably a large grey market has developed. Nevertheless, months of sold out pre-orders and one 24 hour period has seen more than a million PS4s pass from retailers to customers.
From Andrew House, SCE Group CEO, "Sales remain very strong in North America, and we expect continued enthusiasm as we launch the PlayStation 4 in Europe and Latin America on November 29. We are extremely grateful for the passion of PlayStation fans and thank them for their continued support."
Sony has previously stated goals of 3 million units sold by the end of the year in a lead up to 5 million by March. The PS4 is set to launch in Europe, Latin America, and Oceania on November 29th. The console will release throughout Asia in December and in Japan on February 22nd.
