For our readers who are also involved in HD production, Sony has some news tools at your disposal!
The HDR-CX520V (SRP: $1,300) and HDR-CX500V (SRP: $1,100) from Sony offer FullHD 1080p recording and 12-megapixel still image capture. The 520V offers 64 GB of storage while the 500V offers 32 GB of internal storage. They will both ship in September.
To reduce motion shake, the cameras have Optical SteadyShot with Active mode, and 3-Way Shake Canceling technology ensures that vertical and horizontal shake is reduced through optical image stabilization and lateral roll is corrected through electronic image stabilization. Both cameras offer a new Face Touch ability, which will focus on an individual’s face if detected on the view screen. They can record to Memory Stick Pro-HG Duo HX media for an additional 32GB of storage. A slew of additional features, such as a GPS antenna and 5.1 sound, are also included.
