Sony Pictures has announced an early October Blu-ray release for a new 50th Anniversary Edition of the Ray Harryhausen classic 'The 7th Voyage of Sinbad.'
The 1958 adventure classic, featuring some of Harryhausen's most beloved stop-motion creations, will debut on Blu-ray October 7 (day-and-date with a new standard DVD re-issue) in time to celebrate the film's 50th birthday.
Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a BD-50 dual-layer presentation with 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video (1.66:1) and first-ever Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Surround remix.
Extras announced thus far include a new retrospective audio commentary (participants TBA) and the featurette "Remembering the '7th Voyage of Sinbad.'" Stay tuned for final specs to be confirmed in the days ahead.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray has been set at $28.95.
