Sony Pictures has officially announced the direct-to-video premiere film 'Open Season 2,' which will come to Blu-ray in early January.
As originally reported, Sony had intended to debut 'Open Season 2' as a theatrical feature, but then leaked the news to the trades last week that it will now debut the sequel direct-to-video. Due on January 27, the Blu-ray will hit day-and-date with the standard DVD.
A relatively bare bones release, shared extras include a pair of featurettes ("Going WILD! With the Voice Cast of Open Season 2," "How to Draw Your Favorite Characters: Boog, Elliot & Fifi") and three deleted scenes.
BD-Live enabled, the Blu-ray will also include the exclusive interactive game "Save Mr. Weenie!"
Tech specs will see 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video and English Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Surround audio.
Suggested retail price for the Blu-ray has been set at $38.96.
You'll find the latest specs for 'Open Season 2' linked from our Blu-ray Release Schedule, where it's indexed under January 27.
