Hoping to expand the variety of Blu-ray disc offerings, Sony BMG has
announced it plans to
release
the first two music titles on the format, reports Home Media Retailing.
'Rod Stewart: Live at the Royal Albert Hall' and 'John Legend: Live at the House
of Blues' are both scheduled to debut on Blu-ray shortly after the format's
first players are released by Samsung later this month, the studio announced.
Both titles were shot in high definition, making them "ideal candidates"
to be released on the next-gen Blu-ray format, HMR reports.
"These dynamic concerts from John Legend and Rod Stewart have all of the
immediacy and excitement of a live performance, giving fans high-definition
video and uncompressed sound for an extraordinary entertainment experience,"
said Thomas Hesse, president of Sony BMG Music Entertainment’s Global
Digital Business unit.
Full specs, pricing and exact street date have not yet been announced by Sony;
we will add the latest details as soon as they become available to our comprehensive
Blu-ray Release
Schedule.
