In an early announce to retailers, Sony has set an April Blu-ray arrival for the Arnold Schwarzenegger sci-fi thriller 'The 6th Day.'
A blend of Schwarzenegger action with more heady Philip K. Dick-esque science fiction, 'The 6th Day' may not have been a theatrical blockbuster on the level of 'The Terminator' or 'Predator,' but it has since enjoyed a growing cult audience on video. Now Sony will give high-def fans their fix, when the studio debuts the Roger Spottiswoode-directed flick on Blu-ray April 8.
No tech specs or supplement details were available at press time,. but the Blu-ray is coming billed as a Special Edition, so expectations are that at least some (if not all) of the bonus features on the previous two-disc DVD edition will be ported over to the Blu-ray. We'll keep you posted.
Retail for the Blu-ray has been set at a suggested $28.95..
