It may not be the A-list catalog title Blu-ray fans have been waiting for, but Sony Pictures Home Entertainment announced today that it will bring the actioner 'Vertical Limit' to the next-gen format on February 20.
The icy thriller, starring Bill Paxton and Chris O'Donnell will hit Blu-ray with announced specs including a 1080p/MPEG-2 video transfer and uncompressed PCM 5.1 surround track, but no extras.
Admittedly, we were personally hoping for a bit better from Sony today, especially as the studio today announced Rated and Unrated versions of 'The Grudge 2' on standard-def DVD -- that might have made for a better, more high-profile Blu-ray title, don't you think?
Maybe the studio is holding all the good stuff for CES (which begins in early January in Las Vegas). In any case, retail for 'Vertical Limit' will list for $28.95.
