In an early announcement, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has set a December Blu-ray arrival for the Ray Harryhausen classic '20 Million Miles to Earth.'
Celebrating its 50th anniversary, Sony will debut the next-gen edition of the pioneering effects extravaganza on December 4.
Tech specs include 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video and audio in both Dolby Digital 5.1 and original 1.0 mono.
Supplemental details are not yet available, although Sony is releasing the film on standard-def DVD July 31 in a new set brimming with extras. Given that the Blu-ray will be a BD-50 dual-layer release, indications are good that the next-gen version will boast most if not all of those bonus features.
Sony has set a list price of $28.95 for the Blu-ray.
We've added a new listing for '20 Million Miles to Earth' to our Blu-ray Release Schedule, under September 25. Stay tuned for full details in the months ahead.
