Sony Pictures has announced it is bringing the inspirational cult favorite 'Rudy' to Blu-ray this September.
Though not a big box office hit at the time of its theatrical release in 1993, the Sean Astin-starrer has since gone on to attract a large cult following on video.
Previously released as a special edition DVD, Sony will debut the Blu-ray on September 9 (the same day as another recent sports-themed release, the just-announced 'Jerry Maguire').
Tech specs for 'Rudy' include a 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 presentation, with Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Surround tracks in English, French and Portuguese.
There's no word yet on any supplemental features, but Sony will have the full media announcement in the coming days, so stay tuned.
Suggested retail for the Blu-ray is $28.95
