If you’ve already installed the game, the temporary fix is to uninstall and re-download. And that comes with its own subset of problems.
Sony’s first big push of downloadable copies of games being available on the same day they come to stores have fallen flat thanks to a game-breaking bug in ‘Resident Evil 6.’ Those who have already installed and patched the game have been unable to play, thanks to a an issue in the latest patch.
The solution for now is to uninstall and re-download the game. When you reinstall it, you won’t be asked to patch. The upside of this is, of course, that you’ll be able to play the game. The downside is that you won’t be able to play online with people that own the disc version of the game.
Capcom says that there’s a patch on the way that should fix all of this.
