Presumed end of the series not yet to occur.
The Take-Two=owned 2K Sports has announced that 'Major League Baseball 2K13' will be released on March 5 for the Xbox 360 and PS3. 2K Sports semi-exclusive deal with MLB was set to expire prior to this season, and Take-Two had been treating the series as though it would die a quiet death, leaving the Xbox 360 without any kind of MLB simulation title. (The PS3 has Sony's MLB: The Show series.)
Strauss Zelnick, Head of Take-Two, had previously referred to the former licensing agreement as a "money-loser," and the series had been left off Take-Two's release list for this fiscal year.
Specific details of a new licensing deal have not yet been revealed, but it is safe to assume that Take-Two found them more favorable than the old deal. It is even possible that the new deal lacks any kind of exclusivity.
Along with announcement of 'MLB 2K13' was the cover reveal for the game, which features David Price, left-handed pitcher for the Tampa Bay Rays and the 2012 Cy Young Award winner.
