Sony has also written up an apology for the issues.
It's easy to get jealous of Japanese gamers. They tend to get the first shot at new games and new systems, leaving us to check out screenshots and preview videos while waiting. Of course, there are some times where it's kind of nice to be late to the party.
The Vita launch seems like it's going to be one of those times, as customers have been reporting some big problems with their new systems. There are bugs of course - that's not unusual. Vita owners are having bigger problems, including unresponsive touchscreens and completely frozen systems.
Sony issued an apology and put out a new firmware update to address the issues. It's a lucky thing for Vita owners and Sony both that we live at a time where firmware updates are simple to distribute online. As recently as ten years ago, this could have spelled doom for the system.
