In a shuffling of its fall high-def slate, Paramount Home Entertainment has indefinitely postponed the planned October Blu-ray and HD DVD release of 'Flashdance.'
The blockbuster '80s musical -- which introduced the world to Jennifer Beals and ripped sweatshirts -- was originally announced for a simultaneous September 18 bow on both Blu-ray and HD DVD.
Paramount has not a reason behind the removal of 'Flashdance' from its next-gen schedule, nor any new street date, but we'll keep you posted as soon as any further information is officially announced.
We've noted the postponement of 'Flashdance' in both our Blu-ray Release Schedule and HD DVD Release Schedule, where it now resides under the "Street Dates Postponed" section.
We've also set up dedicated threads for 'Flashdance' in our Forums area -- click the following links to discuss the 'Flashdance' Blu-ray release and the 'Flashdance' HD DVD release.
