The sixth season of 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' and the seamless 2-part movie arriving on Blu-ray this summer have been delayed.
As previously reported, Paramount will be releasing 'Star Trek: The Next Generation - Season Six' on Blu-ray on June 3, but now the date has been changed to June 24.
Discover new visual depths and enhanced special effects in unforgettable episodes that take the crew to strange new worlds. Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) endures a Cardassian torturer, Lt. Worf (Michael Dorn) uncovers a life-changing secret aboard the Starfleet station Deep Space Nine, and Lt. Cmdr. Geordi La Forge (LeVar Burton) rescues Chief Engineer Montgomery Scott (guest star James Doohan) from a 75-year transporter limbo.
The 2-part episode 'Chain of Command' will also be available on the same date.
Tensions rise as a possible Cardassian attack looms, and Picard, Dr. Crusher and Worf are sent on a secret mission to find and destroy suspected biological weapons. The headstrong replacement captain, Edward Jellico, is cold and demanding -- to the dismay of the remaining crew. But when Picard is captured by the Cardassians and tortured for information, dismay turns to anger and resistance as Jellico's plans exclude a rescue mission. With his options running out, Picard must fight to save his sanity and ultimately his life.
Each release will feature 1080p video, a lossless 7.1 soundtrack, and supplements have yet to be revealed.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray season is $129.99, while 'Chain of Command' is set at $29.99.
