After a maddening, months-long drought, Paramount Home Entertainment has finally re-ignited its Blu-ray and HD DVD release machine for early 2007.
Hitting high-def simultaneously with the standard-def DVD release on February 20, Paramount will release the Golden Globes favorite and likely Oscar contender 'Babel' on both Blu-ray and HD DVD.
That will be followed on April 10 by a new unrated version of the Mel Gibson starrer 'Payback Straight Up: The Director's Cut,' also due day-and-date on both Blu-ray and HD DVD.
Unfortunately, not a single spec for either release has been released at this time, and pricing details remain elusive as well. You can, however, check out the box art for 'Babel' by clicking the listing under Feb 20 in our HD DVD Release Schedule, and Blu-ray Release Schedule.
We've also set up dedicated threads for these latest Paramount titles in our new Forums area -- click the following links to discuss the Blu-ray release and the HD DVD releases.
