The new interface offers updated animations and improved discovery and personalization options.
Pandora has announced the beta release of their latest mobile app. The new Station Personalization interface on iOS and Android includes a redesigned UI and a few new features.
"This redesign allowed us to reflect and evolve on the core spirit of Pandora," said Tony Calzaretta, vice president of design and creative at Pandora. "With this update, our team arrived at design solutions that exist at the intersection of instinctually and analytically driven insights. We did this with an emphasis on simplicity and clarity, so that we can maximize the listener's ability to personalize their stations and fit their desired Pandora experience."
The update features an improved interface that emphasizes station personalization along with new animations and transitions. Likewise, a new Personalization Icon gives customers easy access to several options like a thumb history and the ability to change thumb feedback for previously listened-to tracks through a new "un-thumbing" option. Finally, the upgraded interface also makes music discovery easier with a simple "swipe and tap" system to view song and artist information.
Pandora's updated mobile interface is now available as a beta for 3 percent of iPhone and Android smartphone users. The final update will roll out to all mobile and tablet Pandora customers in the coming months.
