Sony has taken down the network for routine maintenance , closing the store, account management and more.
If you've tried to buy anything new on PSN today, you'll have noticed that it's not working. The PlayStation Network is down for the time being, thanks to some routine maintenance being carried out by Sony.
The company says that we can expect PSN to be down until midnight PST. During this maintenance, you'll be unable to access the PlayStation Store, account management and registration services and access to HomeMusic.
"Fortunately, most online play will be unaffected," writes Patrick Seybold on the PlayStation blog. "Users who are already signed into their account on PlayStation Network before the start of the maintenance should be able to stay signed in to their online session, but will not be able to access any of the services listed above."
If you collect in-game trophies during the maintenance, they'll be updated to reflect accordingly as soon as PSN is back up and running.
