New versions support save import from PS3.
Tecmo Koei's indelible franchise 'Dynasty Warriors' is coming to the PS4 and soon. The latest flavor of the 'Romance of the Three Kingdoms' button-mashing battlefield saga is 'Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition,' which contains both 'Dynast Warriors 8' and 'Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends.' It also comes with all of the released DLC. The game is also coming to the PS Vita. Both the PS4 and PS Vita versions are due to release April 4th, but as of right now, they have only been announced for Europe and not for North America.
Even for those unfamiliar with the franchise, one compelling feature for the PS4 and PS Vita compilation title is its ability to import PS3 save files. The import process appears to be based on uploading the save file from the PS3 version of the game to the Tecmo Koei servers, and then downlod from within the PS4 or Vita versions of the game.
From Tecmo Koei, "Importing data to "DYNASTY WARRIORS 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition" for the PlayStation®Vita system or PlayStation®4 system
"You can upload your save data online by going to "Options" - "Save/Load" within "DYNASTY WARRIORS 8" for the PlayStation®3 system. After the save data has been uploaded, you will be given the opportunity to import the data when you first start up the game."
