Former 'Battlefield 4' error trending and spreading to other games.
The PS4 has a problem. One of its error codes, CE-34878-0 PS4, which has been popping up after 'Battlefield 4' crashes since the system's launch, is now appearing in other titles. Titles like 'FIFA 14' and 'Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag,' are not only crashing, but users are finding that their save files are corrupt. Furthermore, once exhibited with some frequency, many users are unable to get rid of the error of by uninstalling their games or related data. Unfortunately, daily cloud saving through PlayStation Plus is not much of a failsafe if a corrupted save file is uploaded. For now though, the percentage of affected users seems small. Those affected can be seen in a thread on Sony's PlayStation European support forum.
The fear of losing a 40 hour save file, coupled with a gremlin like problem in a new console is enough to freak most players out. Multiple outlets are reporting the error, and the response is one of general concern. Despite numerous "knock on wood" replies, this author has been unable to track down anyone currently experiencing the error. Sony has stated that the issue is under investigation, and hopefully a solution can be found that doesn't require a complete system replacement.
