And coming soon.
The last time that pre-loading a game seemed like a possibility for a console, it was 'Titanfall' on the Xbox One, and it turned out to be completely bogus. With today's release of 'Infamous: Second Son, Sucker Punch let slip that digital pre-loading is coming to the PS4 in April.
@EricRovtar @epsilonomega No preload on PS4 until April and for North America, the PS Store will update at midnight PST…so 3am EST.

@Pharmboy044 Not sure about SCEE but yes on SCEA.

Even a ten-hour lead to pre-load major PS4 releases could really improve the digital purchase experience. Recent major releases have produced launched day traffic to a degree that staggered PSN. Digital pre-loading is common for PC game download services like Steam and Origin, which allow players to download a game early in a "locked" form. The "unlock" then occurs on release day, however, the timing of the unlock is not always ideal for players.
