Indie four player title launching on OUYA June 25th.
As the OUYA continues towards launch, the system is looking for ways to raise its profile. One way involves making a showing at E3, or at least in a parking lot across from E3. Another way is by setting up demonstration units in retailers such as the UK's GAME stores. Ultimately though, not unlike the introductions of the PS4 an Xbox One, what the OUYA needs is games. One such promising game is 'Towerfall.'
'Towerfall' is "an archery combat platformer for up to 4 players." And the game is pushing a frenetic 'Smash Bros.'/ 'Power Stone' / 'BattleBlock' 2D gameplay look. The game's creator Matt Thorson has promised that 'Towerfall' will launch first for the OUYA on June 25th. With the game emphasizing multiplayer same-screen play and controller necessitating precision, it may be the best example the OUYA has to show what it can do at this early stage.
Combat requires an efficient use of arrows, and arrows must be harvested from other players' missed shots, or from chests in the arena. Arrows can even be snatched in mid-air by advanced players. 'Towerfall' is launch title for the OUYA and is expected June 25th.
The OUYA is available for pre-order.
