In a rare double dip for the studio, Walt Disney has announced it is bringing a new version of 'No Country for Old Men' to Blu-ray this April.
The Oscar-winning modern classic from Joel and Ethan Coen received an initial Blu-ray release in early 2008. Though light on extras, the disc still sold like gangbusters, helping to push overall Blu-ray sales to new highs.
Disney will return to the same well twice for the 'No Country for Old Men: Collector's Edition,' which will receive a two-disc Blu-ray release on April 7. (The existing Blu-ray version will be discontinued.)
Tech specs will see a BD-50 dual-layer disc with 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video and DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 Surround.
Extras from the previous release include three featurettes ("The Making of No Country For Old Men," "Working With The Coens," "The Diary Of A Country Sheriff").
New to the Collector's Edition is a host of TV excerpts ("ABC 'Popcorn' Video," "Channel 4 News Joel And Ethan Coen Appearance," "Lunch With David Poland IKLIPE, Javier Bardem And Josh Brolin Interview," "WNBC Reel Talk With Lyons & Bailes and Josh Brolin," "LA WGAW Q&A Panel," "Charlie Rose Featuring Joel And Ethan Coen, Josh Brolin And Javier Bardem"), additional interviews ("EW.com "Just A Minute...With Javier Bardem," "Q&A with Joel And Ethan Coen, Roger Deakins And The Sound And Production Design Crews," "Variety Screening Series Q&A," "In-Store Appearance With Javier Bardem And Josh Brolin"), six more audio-only interviews, and a bonus on-set segment "Josh Brolin's Unauthorized Behind-The-Scenes."
A second standard DVD will include a Digital Copy of the film.
Suggested retail price for the Blu-ray has been set at $39.95.
