Adds 40% capacity.
The Wii U has no shortage of problems, and one annoyance for actual users is the GamePad's meager 3-5 hours of battery time. With the new high-capacity battery, that run time is upped to 5-8 hours.
The new 2,500mAh battery is a drop-in replacement for the system's 1,500mAh battery and is priced at roughly $50. It currently is on sale in the UK and in Germany. The battery has been announced for Japan, but not for North America.
The battery is reportedly easy to replace. As unfortunate as the lack of a North American announcement is, it's more disturbing that Nintendo is not just using this battery for all new GamePads.
