The most challenging aspect of 'Dark Souls II' is not watching it.
Namco Bandai has been teasing players with a 'Dark Souls' sequel for months, and the latest tease is their select PS3 beta. With the game's release still several months away, the only way for many to experience the new 'Dark Souls' is to watch beta players.
With the game under new direction and beset on all sides by a combination of cultish characteristics and a publisher's desire to make the game more accessible, the game, the beta, and just about anything remotely related is subject to harsh critique and intense anticipation.
Naturally this footage comes from not one but a series of beta tests of an unfinished game, and there is no telling how long this currently public footage will be available. Fans already committed to playing the game when it releases may not want to view this footage for fear of spoilers of one kind or another.
