A company spokesman says we won't hear anything about it until 2013 at the earliest.
Here's the thing about rumors – denying them doesn't make people believe them any less. In fact, every time Microsoft comes out and denies something, certain folks become even more convinced. It's a weird sort of conspiracy thing that just won't end.
David Dennis, a spokesman for Microsoft, told Bloomberg "There will be no talk of new Xbox hardware at E3 or anytime soon." He refused to speculate about when such an announcement would take place and stated "For us, 2012 is all about Xbox 360."
That's about as clear a statement as we're going to get, but there's still that lingering bit of doubt – "What if Microsoft is just trying to trick us and make the surprise even bigger?" Well we'll see at E3.
What may prove more interesting is what Microsoft has in store for the Xbox 360. The company is clearly planning to extend the console's life as long as possible, and there have been plenty of rumors about what that could mean.
