Honda marketing means more cars without more cash.
Turn 10 has enjoyed serious sales success with 'Forza 5' in spite of lacking for cars, tracks and other content all while instilling the need for microtransactions. Aside from joy-killing credits grind, the most galling of aspect of the game has been the DLC. 'Forza 5' shipped with 200 cars, but had car packs available on day one, with months more in the pipeline, effectively doubling the game's price through DLC. This is not different from previous 'Forza' titles, except for the part where the game has so few cars to begin with. There have even been various schemes, like the VIP membership, where Turn 10 gives out gift cars, but these are simply reskins of existing cars in the game with Christmas or 'HALO' pint jobs. (As opposed to the reskinning required to make an all-new model.)
At any rate, there have been times in the past when Turn 10 has released actually free and actually new cars. The release of the new Dodge Viper and Hyndai Veloster were such times. And now, the introduction of the 2014 Civic Si has provided such an opportunity.
From Turn 10, "Celebrating Honda’s recent unveiling of the 2014 Civic Si and Honda’s presence at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show, Turn 10 Studios is releasing the Honda Legends Car Pack for Forza Motorsport 5 on Xbox One. This free car pack includes three influential Honda models, including the new 2014 Honda Civic Si and two beloved fan favorites: the 1984 Honda Civic CRX Mugen, and the 1994 Honda Prelude Si. All three of these cars represent the excitement and pure driving spirit that embodies Honda cars."
The Honda Legends Car Pack is available to download now.
