They'll play just about any silver disc on the market, stream from Netflix, and plenty more.
Marantz introed two new players recently, along with a glut of other CE devices. Both the new UD5005 and UD7005 are compatible with 3D Blu-ray discs, CDs, DVDs and Super Audio CDs. They'll play DivX, MP3, and JPEG files too, either from discs or SD cards.
Both players feature dedicated audio sections, but the UD7005 pulls ahead significantly here. It's got a 32-bit Audio DAC with analog multichannel output including 7.1 compatibility.
Both were created with the custom-installer market in mind and sport plenty of options designed to make installation easier. They've got IR inputs and outputs and the 7005 adds RS232 support.
Like all Marantz components, these players look fantastic. Sure, it's all about the video and audio quality, but there's something to be said for having a nice looking system.
