In an early announcement to retail, MGM Home Entertainment says it will bring the acclaimed war drama 'Rescue Dawn' to Blu-ray this November.
Starring Christian Bale and Steve Zahn, the intense combat drama was the long-awaited return to Hollywood for acclaimed auteur Werner Herzog. American audiences turned a blind eye, however, and despite strong critical notices the film's domestic box office receipts barely topped $5 million.
'Rescue Dawn' should get a far better shot on video, with MGM planning to debut the film day-and-date on Blu-ray and standard-def DVD November 20.
As MGM has yet to issue a full press announcement, tech specs and supplemental details are not yet known, but we'll keep you posted.
The studio has set a $39.98 MSRP for the Blu-ray.
