MGM Home Entertainment has announced specs for its trio of March Blu-ray titles, and as has become the norm for MGM on Blu-ray, none of the three catalog titles will contain supplements of any kind.
As we first reported in late December, MGM will bring 'Hoosiers,' 'Dances with Wolves' and 'The Thomas Crown Affair' to Blu-ray on March 13.
Each release will feature new 1080p/MPEG-2 transfers (except 'Dances with Wolves,' which is encoded with AVC MPEG-4) and DTS HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 surround tracks. All three will also be presented on BD-25 single-layer discs, including 'Wolves,' which will contain the three hour-plus theatrical cut version of the film.
With nary an extra feature to be found, MGM continues to be the only next-gen-supporting studio to not yet release a single catalog title with any supplemental material at all. Let's hope that changes soon...
List price for all three titles has been set at $39.95 each.
MGM has also sent an April 3 street date to retail outlets for its next two upcoming Blu-ray titles, the horror classic 'The Silence of the Lambs' and its sequel 'Hannibal.' No official press release has yet been sent out for either title, so no word on specs just yet.
