Mark your calendars, Rambo fans: Lionsgate is preparing to bring the first two sequels in the Sylvester Stallone blockbuster series to Blu-ray this May.
That's according to TV Guide, which reports that the studio is readying 'Rambo: First Blood Part II' and 'Rambo III' for high-def release May 27. (Lionsgate released the first film in the carnage-fueled saga, 'First Blood,' on Blu-ray back in February 2007.)
As Lionsgate has not yet officially announced either title, there are no tech specs or supplemental details available yet. However, full details are expected soon, so we'll certainly keep you posted.
With Blu-ray releases of the first three John Rambo adventures now accounted for, what of the fourth installment in the venerable franchise (simply titled 'Rambo')? Though it should be taken firmly as rumor for now, TV Guide also hints that Lionsgate has staked out the May 27 street date as well for the franchise's Stallone-directed swan song. Stay tuned.
Retail price for the Blu-ray editions of 'Rambo: First Blood Part II' and 'Rambo III' is expected to fall in line with Lionsgate's standard MSRP of $39.98.
While we await an official announcement for the 'Rambo' sequels, you'll find preliminary disc details for both titles in our Blu-ray Release Schedule, where they are indexed under May 27.
