A new premium OLED model has been detailed.
To coincide with the IFA 2017 tech show in Berlin, LG and Bang & Olufsen have unveiled a new collaborative Ultra HD TV model. The BeoVision Eclipse TV combines LG's OLED panel tech with Bang & Olufsen's premium design.
"Consumers all over the world will immediately recognize LG's unrivaled OLED and video processing technology inside this beautiful television crafted by Bang & Olufsen, a company with a strong heritage in design and sound," said Sang-woo Lee, vice president of Home Entertainment business strategy at LG Electronics. "We are looking forward to further developing this relationship going forward."
The display features a 4K OLED panel with perfect black levels, a wide color gamut, and wide viewing angles. In addition, the TV offers high dynamic range support for HDR10 and Dolby Vision. The device also includes an integrated fully active three channel speaker system with a 1 x 1" tweeter, 2 x 2.5" fullrange drivers, and 3 x 4" midrange/woofer. Likewise, multi-room support is implemented as well with Apple AirPlay, Bluetooth, DLNA, and Chromecast built-in connectivity. Finally, the set uses LG's webOS 3.5 smart TV platform and comes with 2way Bluetooth control via the BeoRemote One BT.
"Bang & Olufsen and LG share a long tradition of innovation and craftsmanship," said Stefan K. Persson, executive vice president, Bang & Olufsen. "The strategic partnership between the two companies demonstrates the mutual desire to continuously push the boundaries when it comes to merging world-class design and cutting-edge technology. The result of this collaboration, the BeoVision Eclipse, is a true example of that."
The BeoVision Eclipse TV will be available in 55-inch (around $10,990) and 65-inch (around $15,990) models this September.
