This might mark Sony’s quietest product launch ever. Sony’s KDL-40EX40B is available for pre-order now.
Have you heard about Sony’s 40” LCD with a built in Blu-ray player and a sale price of $899? Neither had we. It’s not unusual for a product to leak out here and there from various companies, but Sony tends to be a bit more bombastic about their new releases.
According to the information on the Sony Style site, the KDL-40EX40B is a forty inch 1080p television that’s got a Blu-ray player built right into it. It’s also got an ambient light sensor to detect your viewing area’s color temperature.
Sony’s Blu-ray LCD is DLNA compliant, so you’ve got plenty of options to stream from a home service. It’s got an Ethernet port built in and it’s WiFi ready, which simply means you can add WiFi capabilities with an adapter or dongle.
According to electronics site JR.com, the going price of the set will be $899, which would make this a surprisingly inexpensive TV. Sony, on the other hand, has no price information listed.
