Popular Hawaiian recording artist Keali'i Reichel will make his high-def debut this October with the HD DVD release of 'Keali`i Reichel - Live in Concert.'
Shot with high-def cameras at Honolulu's Blaisdell Concert Hall, the concert is being billed as the first HD concert video out of Hawaii, and features Reichel along with his dance troupe Hälau Ke'alaokamaile, plus special guests Kealiāi Ceballos and Ben Vegas
The title's October 23rd HD DVD release date will also mark the next-gen disc debut for Warner's indie music label Alternative Distribution Alliance (ADA). The company has not yet revealed any plans to release the disc on Blu-ray.
Tech specs include the complete two-hour special presented on a HD-30 dual-layer disc, with 1080i/MPEG-2 video and Dolby Digital tracks in 5.1 Surround (448kbps) and 2.0 Stereo (192kbps).
Extras will include a 20-minute "Hula Segment," and a retrospective on Reichel's career.
Retail has been announced for $26.98.
