Broadcast devices up to 20 meters without signal loss with Phillips’ newest product, the Wireless HDTV Link.
Users can attach sources via HDMI or component connections to the base unit, signals are then sent to the receiver box.
While not necessary for every home theater setup, Philips hopes to appeal to more of a niche market, especially to those who prefer to not keep their components within standard range of their televisions. As the press release (PDF) from Phillips puts it, “Whether it is above the fireplace, in a recess or in-wall, now you can hang your TV wherever you want, not where the cables dictate they have to be.”
The Phillips Wireless HDTV Link will be available in Germany and the UK at 599 Euros. US availability has not yet been announced.
