Playing "catch up" with a number of its top HD DVD music releases, Image Entertainment has announced it is bringing a quintet of concert classics to Blu-ray beginning this Summer.
There are no street dates yet, but Image says that starting in mid-2008, it will release on Blu-ray five music titles previously available only on HD DVD -- 'Chicago and Earth, Wind & Fire: Live at the Greek,' 'Heart: Alive in Seattle,' 'Moody Blues: Lovely to See You Live,' 'Roy Orbison: Black and White Night' and 'Barry Manilow Live!'
Specs have yet to be announced, but all titles are expected to mirror their HD DVD counterparts, which included 1080 video, remastered audio, and an assortment of bonus features.
There are currently no suggested retail prices for any of the Blu-ray versions, but we'll keep you posted.
As we await the full announcements, we've added listings for all five of Image's upcoming music titles to the "Release Dates Pending" section of our Blu-ray Release Schedule. Stay tuned!
