Frank O'Connor says that a beta would be "a huge interruption" in the completion of the game.
"Halo" and "beta" are two words that go together like "Halo" and "Battle Rifle." We've had extended beta tests of each new game as it comes out for years now and it seems that 'Halo 4' is going to break that tradition.
In an interview with Official Xbox Magazine, 'Halo' director Frank O'Connor revealed that creating a beta for 'Halo 4' would be "a huge interruption" and would slow the games development process considerably.
It's a surprising move to be sure, not just because beta testing helps game developers find balance and fine tune their servers, but because the multiplayer has been a powerful marketing tool for past installments.
