360 USB install workaround, PSN Digital version, 360 & PS3 comparison.
'Grand Theft Auto V' has launched today to much instant critical and commercial acclaim even as the game maintains design elements from some 12 years ago. Amid the launch day buzz are several tidbits of 'GTA V' news.
First of all, the North American PSN store angered fans after Rockstar announced incorrectly on Friday that the game would be available for pre-loading. Sony issued a correction, but there was nevertheless confusion, especially when it came to the reasoning for not pre-loading. Fortunately, PSN seems to have handled the launch day load far better than Rockstar's Social Club, and users finally have their 'Day 1' digital version of 'GTA V.'
For the first time for the series, Rockstar has elected not to include a manual with game. Instead, the company has released the manual on iOS and PC.
Meanwhile a workaround for the 360's optional hard drive install has been found. Instead of installing the play disc to the hard drive of the 360 (where the mandatory install goes), players can install to a USB drive and expect the issues pointed out by Digital Foundry to be corrected.
Likewise, fans of debating platform differences can see Digital Foundry's platform comparison in the following video.
