Online mode functioning at the moment.
The 'GTA Online' launch has gone as well as expected; that is, if you count the expectations that it would instantly be devastated by the demands of players trying to get online. Players have reported no end to trouble just getting into the online mode, and others have played online only to find their progress reset repeatedly. To get an idea of how bad the online experience has been, on Wednesday, Rockstar elected to suspend purchases of their micro-currency. Finally today, four days after launch, Rockstar has issued a patch for the PS3. p>
From Rockstar, "Update: The latest title update for GTA Online is live for PlayStation 3. We're working to have this up for Xbox 360 as soon as possible today."
With the new patch the online mode seems to be more or less functional, if not entirely stable. With the weekend coming, the functional state may only be temporary.
