Goldhil Bumps 'Chronos' Release Date, Adds HD Bonus Content

Citing technical delays and the addition of new HD bonus content, Goldhil Entertainment
has delayed yesterday's planned HD-DVD release of the IMAX film '
Chronos'
to mid-May, the distributor told High Def Digest.
It is the second delay for 'Chronos,' which was originally scheduled to debut
simultaneously with the launch of the HD-DVD format on April 18.
Goldhil PR spokesperson Chris Donaldson says that in addition to
production delays typical of new formats, the company
is postponing the release to "...really create a more robust product that
will meet the stringent technical demands of the high-def DVD market. We want
this to be one of best high-def DVD titles, rather than beat the clock just
to release product."
Donaldson also confirmed that both the HD-DVD and Blu-Ray versions of the title
will now contain "a number of nice new extras" including exclusive
HD bonus content not available on any previous video release, though exact details
are not yet available.
Retail price for 'Chronos' on both the HD-DVD and Blu-Ray formats will remain the same at $24.95.
