The company's newest premium 4K HDR projector has been unveiled.
To coincide with this week's CEDIA 2018 tradeshow in San Diego, Epson has announced its latest projector model. The Pro Cinema 4050 4K Projector uses the company's new, proprietary 4K PRO-UHD technology. This tech features an improved version of Epson's advanced pixel-shifting, wide color gamut support, high dynamic range capabilities, and 100 percent balanced color brightness.
"With expansive brightness, brilliant, color-rich imagery, and state-of-the art pixel shift technology, the new Pro Cinema 4050 4K PRO-UHD allows viewers to enjoy remarkable 4K UHD content that is nothing short of amazing," said Rodrigo Catalan, senior product manager, Projectors, Epson America. "The Pro Cinema 4050 offers an immersive viewing experience of movies the way they were meant to be seen – on the big screen with bright, full colored imagery and stunning resolution. With Epson's proprietary 3LCD chip technology, unlike many competitive models, it has no rainbow effect."
The Pro Cinema 4050 4K Projector features 4K PRO-UHD tech with a high performance optical engine, Epson's 15-element glass projection lens, and advanced pixel-shifting to produce 4K images (each pixel is shifted diagonally to double Full HD resolution). In addition, the device offers 2,400 lumens of color and white brightness, a contrast ratio up to 200,000:1, 12-bit digital processing, and HDR10 playback support at 24fps. Likewise, unlike most competing projector models that use DLP tech, the unit is capable of covering the entire DCI-P3 wide color space. Finally, Full HD 3D projection support is included as well.
