Eagle Rock Entertainment has announced it will bring the landmark concert film 'Queen Rocks Montreal' to Blu-ray and HD DVD this November, including bonus footage from the band's legendary Live Aid appearance.
Filmed at the Montreal Forum on November 24 and 25, 1981, the full-legth concert film was originally released theatrically in 1983 as 'We Will Rock You.'
Retitled 'Queen Rocks Montreal' for home video release, Eagle Rock has set a November 20 release date for the Blu-ray and HD DVD editions, trailing two standard-def releases (a single disc edition, and a 2-disc edition) by three weeks.
Full tech specs for the high-def versions are not yet available, but the original 35mm source elements have apparently been newly restored and remastered, with the show presented in 1.78:1 widescreen 1080p video.
Among the extras on the Blu-ray and HD DVD versions will be seven tracks (in full) that the band performed at Live Aid on July 13, 1985.
Eagle Rock has not yet announced exact pricing information fro the next-gen versions of 'Queen Rocks Montreal,' but we'll keep you posted.
