After a delay of nine months, Disney has confirmed a February 2008 Blu-ray arrival for the Denzel Washington/Gene Hackman submarine thriller, 'Crimson Tide.'
First announced for Blu-ray release at CES this past January, 'Crimson Tide' was one of a trio of Jerry Bruckheimer-produced blockbusters (alongside 'The Rock' and 'Con Air') that were originally scheduled for release this past June, only to [post 613]later be dumped from the studio's 2007 slate without explanation
As we reported last month, Disney recently rescheduled both 'The Rock' and 'Con Air' for a January 8, 2008 release, but at the time the studio's plans for 'Crimson Tide' remained unconfirmed.
Now we've received word from Disney confirming several earlier retailer reports that 'Crimson Tide' will finally be ready to set sail on Blu-ray February 5, 2008.
No specs or supplement details have been revealed as of yet, but the studio says a full press release is on the way in the coming weeks. Needless to say, we'll keep you posted.
Suggested MSRP for the Blu-ray is $29.98.
While we await a full announcement, we've added the latest disc details for 'Crimson Tide' to our Blu-ray Release Schedule, indexed under its new date of February 5, 2008.
